Class Experience

Does your child love to play Roblox and want to learn how to design awesome multi-player video games? If so, this is the perfect class for them! Over the course of 4 weeks, students will learn to design, build, and code their own Roblox Video Game that they can share with family and friends! Students will learn key Video Game Development concepts like: 3D Design, Collaborative Game Development, UX Design and more - all skills that will improve their digital skills while enhancing their problem solving and collaboration skills.

Roblox Projects: Students will express their creativity and unleash their inner Game Designer by designing their own multi-player Roblox Game! Students will also learn how to enhance their Roblox Video Game using lua.

Small-Group Class: To ensure each child gets the attention they need to succeed, our classes are small which gives our teachers the opportunity to give each child the individual attention and teaching they need.

Commitment to Class Community: Who says Virtual Classes can't have all the social benefits of in-person classes? At Wiz Kid Coding, we believe in the power of collaborative learning, teamwork and friendship. During the class, students will participate in fun community-building activities and team-based exercises designed to build collaboration skills and create an uplifting camp environment.

Prerequisite: This class is an introductory class, however, students should have basic computer and typing skills in order to have the best class experience. This includes skills like knowing how to use their keyboard, identifying letters on their keyboard and knowing how to use their mouse (right click and left click). Please note that this class is not a coding class, although students will be introduced to Lua scripting and use some coding to enhance their Game Design

In the first class, our instructor will teach students how to use Roblox Studio. Although your child may already know their way around Roblox Studio, it is important for us to go through the software as Roblox Studio has over 20 different categories of game development tools with Over 150 objects - and it is important for students to know the core building tools prior to advancing to more complex activities. After the first class, students will work on Roblox Projects to help advance their game design skills. At the end of the course, students will have built multiple Roblox games that they can share with friends and family.
