Description
Class Experience
Students will learn what a rhyme is. Students will learn what makes a phrase a rhyme. Students will be able to identify and suggest rhyming words.
As a kindergarten aid and substitute teacher, I have observed that rhyming is a concept students are really struggling with. It is an area that seems minor and isn't given much attention, however it is a challenge area for many students. An understanding of rhyming will improve your students literacy skills! They will learn to recognize this literacy device and use it in their own writings. There simply aren't enough hours in the day for teachers to focus on every concept as thoroughly as they would like. Rhyming is a concept that sometimes falls through the creaks and I have personally witnessed how much students struggle with it!

No live meetings, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Students will be asked to access Kahoot! and YouTube in order to fully experience this course. They may require assistance in accessing these sources for the first time. An account may be required. Most YouTube videos will be under the "kids" section of YouTube however some are not and will require an adult account to avoid the videos being blocked. Youtube videos will be used via screen share. The google slides presentation will be a simple link to follow and download. The Kahoot! will require a code that I will present and for the student to create a "nickname".
