Class experience
US Grade 3 - 6
This creature camp is all about the wonderfully wild world of reptiles! Participants will be able to view live animals on the FINAL 3 days of camp (If the camp signed up for is between October and March, turtle day will not have a live animal as well). We will dive into basic and more in-depth knowledge/ information about these remarkable creatures regarding biology, ecology, and habitats. There will be plenty of facts provided on these organisms as well as their characteristics,...
Students will learn about the physical characteristics and biology/ life history of reptiles, their habitat and ecology/ evolution, and conservation concerns in the wild.
-A positive attitude :) -A piece of paper and writing utensil can be brought in order to take notes if desired but is not necessary.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
We will be talking about snakes and other reptiles in this class, as well as there will be a live guests. Please be aware if your learner has a fear of snakes (Ophidiophobia) or other animals and is sensitive to this subject. The main goal of this class is to present to the learner that snakes/ and other reptiles, like most animals are typically just trying to live their every day lives and don't act in malice but defense. Education on the topic can be a great start to understanding these beautiful creatures as well as working to not be fearful of them.
