This class focuses on the Renaissance, a time of incredible cultural, scientific, and historical change. Students will learn about key themes like humanism, innovation, and exploration, while also developing important research, writing, and presentation skills.

We will cover:

- An overview of the Renaissance: when, where, and why it happened
- Renaissance culture: art, science, daily life, and education
- Influential figures, such as Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, and Galileo
- Innovations and ideas that changed the world
- Research skills, including how to select a topic, gather reliable sources, and present findings


This self-paced course is broken into six lessons that guide learners step-by-step. Students can work at their own pace, with checkpoints to ensure progress.

The course materials include:

- Engaging video lessons with slides and visuals
- Downloadable resources, such as research organizers and project templates
- Opportunities for creative projects and presentations
- Optional discussion boards for peer interaction

I inspire curiosity by presenting information in a fun and accessible way, encouraging independent exploration. My teaching balances structure with flexibility, so students can follow their interests while gaining essential academic skills.

While this is a self-paced class, I will be available to answer questions, provide feedback on project ideas, and offer guidance on research and presentations. Learners can communicate with me through a class message board or private messages.

Lesson 1:
Introduction to the Renaissance
 In this lesson, students will explore what the Renaissance was, where and when it took place, and why it is considered a turning point in history. They will learn key terms and themes to guide their study, such as humanism, innovation, and cultural rebirth. 
Lesson 2:
Research Skills and Topic Selection
 In this lesson, students will learn how to choose a research topic related to the Renaissance and gather reliable sources. They will practice note-taking, outlining, and forming research questions to guide their independent study. 
Lesson 3:
Exploring Renaissance Life and Culture
 In this lesson, students will examine daily life during the Renaissance, including social structures, education, and the roles of art and science in society. They will discover how these aspects influenced the way people lived and thought. 
Lesson 4:
Writing and Presentation Skills
 In this lesson, students will focus on organizing their research into a clear and engaging written or visual format. They will learn techniques for creating an informative and visually appealing project or presentation.
