I am eager and ready to share with students research-based activities and strategies that will help them get ready for language arts in Kindergarten through primary grades. This class is also ideal, but not limited to, for students, like special education or of other languages who want to start learning English before they are enrolled in school, up to 3rd grade who struggle with grade-level language arts and need to reinforce past skills. Adverbs 1 Vocabulary Adverbs List 2 Vocabulary Antonyms and Synonyms List 3 Category of Objects This interactive direct instruction class has been designed for English speaking elementary students from Pre-Pre K - 2nd grade. Students will be exposed in multiple ways as they watch a video clip, practicing the new knowledge in games, songs, and a rhyming poem. When I prepare the lesson, I have in mind all these ages and varieties of learning of toddlers and children that will help them own what was learned. Students must understand the reading foundations to build day after day, week after week, month after month, and year after year the new knowledge. We never stop learning and the fundamentals are established in the early years of life. Fulghum said, "All I Really Need To Know I Learned In Kindergarten." Dr. Doman said, however, "Kindergarten is too late." My teaching style is serious and formal but loving, active, fun, and relaxed. I am flexible and patient to accommodate the student's age and style of learning. In these classes, students will learn about the early reading skills that will prepare them for a smooth transition to school or, once in school, cope with the pace of the teacher's scope and sequence of the curriculum. In upcoming classes, we can learn about blending and segmenting and consonant sounds and letters. Finally, we will include information in the form of worksheets for extra practice in class or at home.
Learning Goals
Students will improve their understanding and fluency of words: with vowels, colors, and part of speech.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Florida Teaching Certificate in Special Education
I am a retired teacher with a master's degree and with five years of elementary education. I taught my adult children to read before and supported their education in school. I took on my own to become an active at-home teacher especially when the kindergarten teachers of two of my four children told me that they would fail kindergarten because they did not know the ABC and could not read sight words. Actually, I enjoy teaching my grandson!
