25 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
In this one time class, we will begin by painting our hands red, yellow, orange or green, and making handprints on our paper(s). Please note that parent assistance will be required for this portion of class. If you would like to complete this step before class that is perfectly fine. Students will be given ample time to make multiple handprints, as well as clean the paint off of their hands. Next, we will read Red Leaf, Yellow Leaf by Lois Ehlert while our handprints dry. During the story I will ask students questions about the events and setting of the story. After we finish reading the book, we will discuss our favorite types and colors of leaves. Lastly, we will draw veins on our "leaves."
