Description
Class Experience
This class will be an interactive recorder playing class. Learners will practice music reading skills related to playing the recorder. Throughout the course, learners will read and practice songs using the notes C, D, E, F, F#, G, A, B, C', D' and E' as they continue to improve their recorder techniques and reading skills. Learners will practice reading and playing skills at the beginning of every lesson. After warming up, learners will analyze and play simple songs as they practice reading...
The learner will read and play notes on the treble staff, demonstrating good recorder technique and applying knowledge of music theory. National Music Standards • When analyzing selected music, read and perform using iconic and/or standard notation. • Perform music, alone or with others, with expression and technical accuracy, and appropriate interpretation.
Learners are encouraged to practice class material each week. Homework will be assigned at the end of each class.
Recorder Pencil Printed music and activities that will be uploaded to the classroom
Learners will be informally assessed on demonstration of basic recorder skills and basic music reading skills.
25 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Learners will be given a link to a practice page that is just for their class. The link is on my website and may include video demonstrations of the songs recorded by the teacher and play along audio. There are no outside links on the practice page.
