Description
Class Experience
In this one-time drawing course, students will learn to sketch a realistic portrait of a chinchilla (full body), using pencil. What will students learn? 1. Students will learn techniques to sketch a proportionate contour drawing (outline) of a chinchilla (full body), using pencil. 2. Students will learn techniques to draw realistic shadows, using pencils and blending tools. 3. Students will learn techniques to draw realistic highlights, using pencils, erasers, and blending tools. 4....
1. Students will learn techniques to sketch a proportionate contour drawing (outline) of a chinchilla (full body), using pencil. 2. Students will learn techniques to draw realistic shadows, using pencils and blending tools. 3. Students will learn techniques to draw realistic highlights, using pencils, erasers, and blending tools. 4. Students will learn techniques to draw smooth fur, using pencils, erasers, and blending tools. 5. Students will learn techniques to draw from a real photo using a provided reference photo. 6. Students will learn a few facts about chinchillas.
If students do not finish their drawings in class, I encourage them to finish outside of the designated class time.
1 file available upon enrollment-Paper -Everyday pencil and/or drawing pencils -Everyday eraser and/or kneaded eraser -Blending Tool (blending stump, Q-tip, cotton ball, tissue, etc.) -Pencil Sharpener OPTIONAL: White gel pen
Students will be assessed throughout class and at the end of class through questions and sharing of drawings.
1 hour 20 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
