In this comprehensive ELA ongoing course for 3rd and 4th graders, your child will embark on a year-long journey to master essential language arts skills. We'll cover a wide range of topics, including reading comprehension, creative writing, spelling strategies, grammar rules, and vocabulary development. Because this course is ongoing, the lessons do not build upon each other from week to week, so students can join the class anytime, pause if they need to and resume the class any time. Lessons are designed to be interactive and engaging, combining direct instruction with hands-on activities. We’ll use a variety of tools, including Google Slides for visual learning to enhance understanding, and games to reinforce key concepts. At Stone Bridges Academy, our teachers have a teaching style that is dynamic, supportive, and student-centered. We believe in making learning fun and accessible, using a mix of lectures, discussions, and interactive activities. Each lesson is designed to encourage participation, creativity, and critical thinking. Students will have ample opportunities to interact with the teacher and their peers. They will engage in group discussions, participate in games, and collaborate on writing projects. The teacher provide personalized feedback on their work, ensuring that each learner progresses at their own pace. Whether it’s through live discussion, commenting on assignments, or in-class activities, your child will receive plenty of support and guidance throughout the course.

This course was developed by and used with the permission from Ms. Ashley, an SBA teacher. Ms. Ashley graduated from the University of Connecticut with a Bachelor’s degree, majoring in both education and mathematics. Later, she went on to also earn a TESOL teacher’s certificate. She has taught over 10,000+ virtual classes in all subjects over several years on different platforms. She has 18+ years of tutoring/teaching experience, both virtual and in-person, as well as 16 years+ of experience as a volunteer teacher, tutor, and coach in schools and classrooms. In addition to teaching, Ms. Ashley is part of curriculum development and review team for an online ELA and math teaching/tutoring company, where she also serves as a Learning Partner and Academic Advisor for incoming students. Other related experience includes ELA and math tutoring the University of Connecticut Student Center, substitute teaching in the public school system and working for five years as a Financial Controller of a litigation support firm with offices across the United States. Ms. Ashley truly values each and every student, and she hopes to help them to find a love of learning.
