Description

Class Experience

In this one-time class learners will be introduced to chunky monkey. This is a reading strategy that students can use to find small words hiding inside big words. 

I believe that it's important to connect with each learner in class. Therefore, I keep my class sizes small so that every child can participate and share. Learners will be encouraged to get up and move during our class. 

In this class we will:
-learn a song about chunky monkey
-practice using the reading strategy
-learn...

Students will learn how to find small words in bigger words.
Students will learn how to find letter combinations in words to help them read 4-6 letter words. 
Students will learn interesting facts about monkeys.

I have a bachelors degree in Elementary Education. 
I am certified to teach in grades k-6. 
I am also Reading Endorsed and ESOL (English as a second language) Endorsed. 
This is my 8th year of teaching. I have taught first, second, and fifth grade.
