Class Experience

US Grade Kindergarten - 2
This class program designed to help students with literacy difficulties improve their reading skills. It meets once a week. Students will be taught literacy skills that will help them read faster and with more accuracy. This program is comparable to the content in my private reading sessions which most of my learners see reading improvement after a couple of sessions.

The program is designed for students who are struggling with fluency and phonemic awareness. Learners should be reading on a Kindergarten level to start this class. Please see Pre-Reqs for more details.

Each Week your student will:
✔️Live class: we will learn new sounds, blending techniques, and new words
✔️ Receive a word list to practice segment, spelling, and reading
✔️ Receive a list of sounds for the week with words to practice with the sounds

Topics for the Next Month
Week of 22nd: Common digraphs, 10 first grade High Frequency Words
Week of 29th: Consonant blends with l, 10 first grade High Frequency Words
Week of 5th: Common digraphs, 10 first grade High Frequency Words
Week of 12th: Consonant blends with r, 10 first grade High Frequency Words

The structured literacy approach is a research-based instructional method that teaches students to read by breaking down words into smaller parts. It focuses on teaching phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension in a structured and sequential manner. This method works well for struggling readers because it provides them with a clear and consistent framework for learning how to read.

Hello! My name is Mrs. JaLes and I am dedicated to proving that learning is effective when kids have the freedom to explore. What do I mean by this? From a early age our kids are learning everything from exploring (touching, engaging, inquiring, investigating, practicing, reassessing, and finally conquering). Then they start school and we add structure and try to make them fit in a box. As a homeschool educator, I challenge my students to live out of the box and achieve greatness by mastering skills based on their learning style and interests. It's truly amazing the facts my kids recall without ever working on memorization and how much improvement in their critical thinking skills I've seen in such a short time.

These are the classes I want to explore with your children!
* Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, & Division Workshops
 * Writing Workshops
 * Reading Skills
 * Master Phonograms
*Spelling

I am currently a homeschool teacher for 2nd/3rd and 7th grader. I earned my Bachelor's of Science Degree from Oral Roberts University. Professionally, I have worked as an corporate trainer and process developer. As you can see, I enjoy teaching others.

I am a ball of eclectic fun. In my spare time, I enjoy traveling and vlogging my experience. Overall, I just enjoy living and learning as much as I can. I am excited to meet you and hope to see you in the classroom soon.
