Reading Tutoring- Focused Reading Practice Using Spectrum Workbook (2nd- Grade)

This class will help to reinforce and enhance students' reading comprehension skills through focused reading comprehension practice that covers fiction and non-fiction passages, story structure, main idea, and integration of knowledge and ideas.

Students will read passages and then answer questions based on the text. Students will learn to identify genres, identify statements as F/O (fact, opinion) as well as T/F, identify the author's purpose, and how to use context clues to find definitions, among other exercises. Each tutoring session will also include a personal reflection writing assignment to practice and enhance students' reading skills.
