Reading Strategies Mini Class: Asking Questions
In this one time class, students will practice the reading strategy asking questions in order to improve reading comprehension as well as to encourage a love of reading all in a fun and supportive environment.

Reading comprehension is the key to learning in all subjects. In this one time class, students will learn how to use the reading strategy asking questions in order to improve their reading comprehension as well as to encourage a love of reading. First, we will learn about the reading strategy asking questions. Next, I will model how to use the reading strategy using a simple graphic organizer. Then, we will read a short passage together in class. Finally, we will practice using the reading strategy asking questions. Students will create their own graphic organizer to use during class to help ask questions when reading. This class is perfect for students needing some extra practice, but who struggle with longer classes.

When I am not teaching, I love to read, write, research best practices of teaching, crochet, play board games with my family, and take family vacations to learn more about nature, science, and history.
