***NOTE*** this class covers the same curriculum as my class, Reading Skills: Learn to Decode & Read Words Using Phonics Patterns. The only difference is that the curriculum for this class begins and ends in February. In this full year ongoing course, students will learn phonics patterns, then use them to build, read, and write words. We will also learn/review a few sight words (so that we can read sentences)! Before graduating college, I worked as an afterschool tutor for students grades K-6 for 2 years. I earned a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education from Weber State University in 2014. I taught 1st grade for 4 years before becoming a stay-at-home mother.

Students should know all letter names and sounds, and confidently read 3-letter CVC words before taking this class.
