Students will learn the difference between short vowel and long vowel words. This will include help with the bossy e. We will also focus on CVC words (consonant vowel consonant). #academic
Class experience
US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - 1
Students will learn how to differentiate between short vowels and long vowel words. We will then decode CVC words: kit, dog, man, run, bed, tap. Once students have an understanding, we will build upon this by adding the bossy e for Vce words: mane, dame, kite, tape. This will be an open discussion, interactive and engaging class. I will use whiteboards, slides, and games to help students understand these concepts.
Students will improve their understanding of short and long vowel sounds, as well as how to decode them.

Students will be informally assessed throughout the class to check for understanding.Grades Offered
Students will benefit from having note cards, or contruction paper that can be folded to make cards for practice outside of class. Students who have a whiteboard can write the letters and words will be learning for a more interactice experience.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
