US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - Kindergarten
This one-time class gives students the opportunity to practice letter sounds and blending simple CVC (consonant-vowel-consonant) words, as well as rhyming and breaking words into syllables. I love making learning come alive with singing, playing, and creating art! We will sing several letter songs together, clap and snap the syllables in our names, mold letters with play dough, and create a simple sentence with a watercolor illustration. The class will be upbeat and filled with hands on activities!
Learning Goals
-Students will practice phonemic awareness with rhyming and clapping syllables.
-Students will isolate sounds in words and practice blending CVC words
-Students will make words with play dough
-Students will learn to spell and write a simple sentence: “It is red”
-Students will paint a picture that matches their written work

Supply List
A one page handout will be provided for students to copy the sentence and paint on. -Play dough -Simple water color set or crayons
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
