US Grade Kindergarten - 3
In this one-time class, we will explore the book "Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus". (The book is not needed) Students will discuss what a title and author are. They will practice making predictions before, during, and after the reading. The students will listen to a read-aloud and complete a few activities discussing the book. The students will then make a pigeon craft (The craft will require some pre-planned work before class) and learn to draw their own pigeons. *Students will not be expected to read but should be able to discuss the book after listening to it, make predictions, and complete the activities with the class.
Learning Goals
Students will focus on understanding what an author is, and what a title is. They will focus on a few comprehension skills including making predictions and sequencing. They will make a craft and learn to draw a pigeon for added fun!
