US Grade 2 - 5
Beginner Level
This is a great one-time class for students who like cats and reading. * We will first practice six key vocabulary words. * Then we will take turns reading a cute story about Pumpkin and Marigold the cats as they experience their first fall. The story will introduce us to some of their woodland friends. We will find out what some animals do in the fall to prepare for winter. * Next, we will go through a story map together. Story maps are great tools to help think about what you've read in a way that helps you remember important details. This story map will examine characters, setting, inference, and sequence. * If time allows, we will draw a fall leaf together at the end of class. **If you don't see a time that works for your family please feel free to message me a request for a better option. ** The content in this class, including the story and its characters, is protected under Copyright. ©2024 Miss Elizabeth, All Rights Reserved. Sharing or selling this content is prohibited. Enrolled families/students may have the content for their own use only.**
Learning Goals
Students will get to practice their reading, pronunciation, and comprehension skills. We will use a story map to review what we've read. We will be focusing on the characters, setting, summary, and sequence.

Minnesota Teaching Certificate in English/Language Arts
Hello! Thank you for stopping by! I love students of all ages and I love teaching a variety of topics. Some of my favorite classes to teach are reading, nature, and science. I try to create a positive and encouraging atmosphere so learners feel comfortable in participating. I want students to have fun while learning!
I have a Bachelor of Arts degree from Minnesota State University, a Minnesota teaching license, and a 160 hour TEFL certification.
I have been teaching and guiding children since 2000 as a preschool/childcare provider, an ELA teacher in public school classrooms, and an ESL teacher in online classrooms.
I love teaching, but I also love being a student! I take as many classes as possible on whatever subject piques my interest. Teaching and learning are my life!
When my three daughters are home from college we love going for hikes, cooking together, and of course, snuggling our two funny cats, Pumpkin and Marigold.
I hope to see your learner in class!
