Use code LEARN9L4PX5 to save $5 today! *Students can join at any time, but reading the book before class is necessary. In this class, we will meet every week to discuss an I Survived Book by Lauren Tarshis or a Who Was Book. This class will focus on historical people and events. Please see the book schedule and themes. These wildly popular books are a great way to bring history and reading together. These books make history more relatable to students and studies show we learn and retain more when we can relate to the information being presented. Whether you have a reluctant reader or an avid reader, the I Survived and Who Was Series will capture their interests and keep them reading. These historical fiction books allow readers to be transported into the midst of historical events, following brave young protagonists who take part in these events. During class, we will explore the plot, characters, setting, and historical context as students share their thoughts and insights. Learners will also be asked comprehension questions, to share their thoughts, and learn new vocabulary. We are kind, caring, and encouraging teachers. We are here for you and your student. You are welcome to reach out to us at any time and we are committed to providing you with periodic feedback on your child.
