Students will enjoy a featured text excerpt both read aloud by the teacher and read by students (when comfortable). Text will be shared via Google Slides, and students may read aloud from the screen, or simply listen and follow along. Throughout the reading, students will be engaged in a series of thought provoking questions, which build their reading comprehension skills. After the selected text is read, students will practice the skills introduced in the text through fun and engaging activities which can be used with many books after class concludes. **Please Note: There will be no graphic, violent, sexual, or politically questionable excerpts included for in class lessons.
