Learner will be assessed on their ability to identify and explain character traits of a character in a familiar fairytale. Students will complete a Google form and get feedback.Class Experience

Looking to improve your reading comprehension? Learn about character traits in stories and how they can help you better understand a text. This class will cover what a character trait is, examples of character traits, and how to analyze character traits in a text. We will start the class sharing our favorite characters from stories. Then students will complete a mini-anchor chart identifying what a character trait is. Students will use the anchor chart as a reference for the rest of the class and they can use it as a tool for their own independent reading in the future. Students will then use their anchor chart to analyze the character traits of characters from familiar stories (based on students' background knowledge and interests). This part of the class will be discussion-based and all students will be given opportunities to share their thinking. It will be helpful if students are familiar with fairy tales such as Beauty & the Beast, Cinderella, Aladdin, etc.
