Class Experience

US Grade Kindergarten - 2
In each class, I present a new and fun topic for students to play with in writing. We'll have plenty of time for me to introduce and learn about the topic, allow students to write, and then have time for students to share something that surprised them from their writing! We also review true and false, misconceptions, facts and we draw as well.

Week 1 - All about plants. Students will learn the parts of the plant and complete whole group exercises to demonstrate understanding. Students will write and draw about plants. Students will share their work with the class, if desired.
(Topics after week 1 are subject to change based on student interest)
Week 2 - All about skunks. Students will learn about skunk's habitats, and lifespan. They will complete whole group exercises to demonstrate understanding. Students will write and draw skunks. Students will share their work with the class, if desired.
Week 3 - All about dragons. Students will learn the about dragons. They will complete whole group exercises to demonstrate understanding. Students will write and draw dragons. Students will share their work with the class, if desired.
Week 4 - All about zebras. Students will learn the lifespan and habitat of the zebra. They will complete whole group exercises to demonstrate understanding. Students will write and draw zebras. Students will share their work with the class, if desired.

The writing builds inner connection, the prompts support creativity in thinking, drawing helps students to connect some of the subject-specific vocabulary, and the opportunity to share builds confidence and support.

I hope you can join me soon! :) I can't wait to see you in class!
