The Multicultural Sci-Fi and Fantasy courses will introduce students to authors of sci-fi and fantasy from underrepresented cultures and backgrounds and explore the construction of modern and future worlds from the perspective of global experiences. “The Last Fallen Star-A Gifted Clans Novel" course will delve deep into the themes of family, identity, belonging, and sisterhood. The goal is for students to enhance their critical thinking and literary analysis skills while exploring significant themes and narratives. Students will also learn the basics of paragraph and essay writing through two short writing assignments for homework. The essay component is not a requirement. Students are welcome to join in for discussion only if they prefer.
Learning Goals
