1 hour per week. Students who want to master the concepts are expected to participate each week by completing the assigned practice questions. I'll provide practice questions with answer keys after each class.Class Experience
US Grade 6
In this class we will review the major concepts of grade 6 math in a fun and engaging way! 😀The purpose is to RELIEVE MATH ANXIETY AND GAIN CONFIDENCE! We will build our community at the beginning of each class, solve real life problems in every class and write on the interactive whiteboard. After each class, I will send you our whiteboard notes and assign practice. It's up to you to do the practice... but, it's worth it! I help students see themselves as confident and competent MATHEMATICIANS who are able to apply their math knowledge both in and out of the classroom. 💥Video/Zoom: Students are asked to KEEP THEIR VIDEO ON for this class. I provide students with opportunities to communicate and discuss their thinking. This improves their understanding, provides me with useful information to inform instruction. Ultimately, this shifts power away from the teacher being the possessor of knowledge to students being the constructors of it. 📅 Our First Four Weeks Will Cover: Week of June 10 Welcome and Ratios/ Rates Week of June 17 Percent Week of June 24 Fraction Computations Week of July 1 Integers

Students will learn and/or review important math concepts taught in grade 6.

Parental Guidance
The third party tools will be used to watch a math video as a screen share (Khan Academy, YouTube), manipulate a geometric figure by screen sharing (Desmos) or write a quiz (Google Docs). Parents are not required to open an account for any of these.
Pre-Requisites
Students should have completed grade 5 math with a passing grade.
Supply List
Please bring any class notes, if provided beforehand, paper to write on and pencils/erasers. Students may use a calculator.
