Each week the student will come having read the set pages from Ramona the Pest by Beverly Clearly. I will encourage the students to think critically and engage with one another through my own questions. However, I find after the first couple meetings the students will be comfortable enough to engage with each others and bring their own questions and comments to the meetings as well. This is a great club for new readers, just getting into chapter books. I never expect anyone to speak if they don't want to and want everyone to be comfortable and have a fun hearing what others think of the book. My goal is so establish a love of reading. I want students to learn to talk about books and think critically through discussions with their peers. Below is the break down of what should be read each week. I have tired to set a reasonable amount of pages each week that won't be too much to achieve on top of weekly homework from school :) I am ok with a student reading ahead but they must remember to not give any spoilers to others and save it for the next class. WEEK 1: please come having read pages 1-36 WEEK 2: pages 37-62 WEEK 3: pages 63-82 WEEK 4: pages 83-105 WEEK 5: pages 106-133 WEEK 6: pages 134-158 WEEK 7: pages159-180 WEEK 8: FINISH THE BOOK!

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! I have a degree in Art History from Florida State University and want to share the joy of arts and crafts, baking and reading with your children.
Most my classes are based around American Girl Dolls and I cant express how happy it makes me to have the chance to educate kids on history via these amazing stories AG has made. My love of American Girls started when I was 6 and still have all 4 of my dolls, and a bitty baby, who make regular appearances in class. I hope to instill a love of history, reading and cooking in all my students.
I am currently living in a bus and traveling the county with my husband and daughter. I love sharing my locations with the students and my regulars seem to get a kick out of asking me where I am every week.
Looking forward to see you in my classroom!
