Class Experience

US Grade 9 - 12
Beginner - Advanced Level
Join the Rainbow Writers' Collective, an inclusive and supportive space for young writers aged 14+ to express their creativity and connect with like-minded peers. In this workshop-style club, students of all writing levels will explore various writing techniques, share their work, and provide and receive constructive feedback in a judgment-free environment. Each session will feature engaging activities such as writing prompts, fun exercises, and open discussions to inspire and improve writing skills.

For example:

Week 1: Identity Exploration – Discover personal storytelling and self-expression.

Week 2: Creating Vivid Characters – Develop detailed and memorable characters.

Week 3: Setting and World-Building – Craft immersive and believable worlds.

Week 4: Plot and Structure – Build compelling narratives and plot outlines.

Week 5: Dialogue and Voice – Write authentic dialogue and find your unique narrative voice.

Week 6: Conflict and Resolution – Create engaging conflict and satisfying resolutions.

The class is structured in a round-table format, encouraging interaction through discussions and peer feedback. My teaching style is interactive and collaborative, fostering a welcoming atmosphere where every voice is valued. Parents can rest assured that this space is safe and supportive, designed to nurture the unique voices within the LGBTQIA+ community.

While following the safety and content guidelines here on Outschool, I hope to provide a space in which LGBTQIA+ students can express themselves through creative writing and find support.
