Class Experience

Students will learn/review the colors of the rainbow. Then we will find something around our room/house that is a certain color to show off. This is a great way to get students moving while thinking creatively about the objects they have around them.
Students will be given a color and then race to go find the object. They will practice verbal skills by explaining their object using color words and complete sentences. This class is all about interacting with each other.
Basic color knowledge preferred but not required.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! My name is Kelley and I am a middle school teacher by day. Language arts is my specialty but also like to dabble in some other areas such as career writing and project-based learning for any subject. I believe that having fun while learning helps us to retain information more successfully. Also, as a teacher, I always learn something new along with my students. This also lets them know that I don't know everything but am excited when new info or skills come my way. I am always willing to help a student who is stuck or just needs that little extra push!
The kinds of classes I am looking forward to teaching are writing classes such as Journalism, Analysis, and creative story telling. I will also be teaching reading classes such as characterization and storytelling. Don't forget to find my project-based classes such as Book in a Bag.
