Life can get busy and often when we are on the go it's hard to find snacks that taste good and also fuel our bodies. In this ongoing cooking class, kids will learn how to make a variety of easy, healthy, and DELICIOUS grab and go snacks!

Class Experience

Life can get busy and when we are on the go it's easy to grab pre packaged, processed snacks because often that is all that is available.  In this hands on class students will learn how to make a variety of quick and easy grab and go snacks.  These snacks not only taste delicious but are loaded with nutrients to help fuel our bodies for long periods of time.  
•	Students will learn about variety of ingredients and the health benefits some of these super food ingredients offer.
•	Ingredients used can be found at most grocery stores.
•	Ingredients are checked off and students will follow step by step instructions from the teacher.
•	The use of an oven or blender is require.
•	A supply list will be provided upon enrollment.
•	All recipes are simple and require little (if any) help from an adult.
•	All recipes can be modified if any food allergies exist.
•	The cookies may need some additional baking and cooling time after class is over.
•	Students with all levels of cooking experience can enjoy this class.
•	Please request for sibling discount.

Each week we will be making a different healthy snack.  Please see what snacks we will make each week below:

8/21: Decedent Chocolate Fudge & Bite Size Apple Sandwiches
8/28: Healthy Chocolate Chip Cookies
9/11: Smoothies: Tutti Fruity & Chocolate Bomb
9/18: Protein Balls (Chocolate Chip & Peanut butter)
9/25: Glorious Granola Bars

Other Details

Parental Guidance
Use of an oven, stove and blender will be necessary for some of the items we make. Please make sure an adult is present to assist with this part of the cooking process if necessary. Some recipes calls for either peanut butter or nut butter however if there is an allergy, this ingredient can be left out of many of the recipes with the same delicious results. Just let me know if advance so I can modify the recipe as needed.
Supply List
Each week the recipe will be sent out.  This will include the ingredient and supply list needed for that weeks recipe.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

Hello, and thank you so much for your interest in my classes!
 
As a trained professional with a degree in Child Development and a minor in Psychology, and a decade in the fitness industry as well as mom of two teens, I offer an experienced and compassionate perspective in my teaching.  

I am a Certified Holistic Health Coach and a Personal Trainer with with a specialty in Youth Physical Activity.  In addition to that, I am a trained Facilitator by NEDA for the Body Project and have a certification in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction.

I believe that the difference between a quick win and lasting health changes is in forming the right habits. This is why I work with my students to help them naturally adjust to making smarter choices for their mind and body that they find compelling and enjoy so that they will stick to them.
