US Grade 4 - 6
Bringing a new puppy or dog into your family is a big decision. You might have questions about training, feeding, or choosing appropriate toys. This class that meets one time addresses the most common questions from new and prospective canine owners. We will cover topics such as diet, exercise, grooming, and helpful supplies to have on hand. The class will follow a lecture based format using pictures, slides, and visuals. Discussion is encouraged, but not required. Questions are welcome. You do not have to be a dog owner to be in class, but if you are considering one either in the near or far future, this class can provide insight about what it takes to be a great pet parent.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree in Education from Eastern Illinois University
I have been owned by a dog my whole life. Currently I live on a farm with several dogs as well as other animals. I participate and actively compete in dog sports such as agility, rally, obedience, and barn hunt. The first agility trial I entered was over 20 years ago! My dogs have multiple awards and titles from several organizations and I am a judge in training for UKI dog shows. I pride myself in working with and being successful with the harder to train breeds. When I am not teaching, I work in a canine rehab center helping dogs through hydrotherapy and laser therapy.
