In this one-time, 30 minute beginner ASL enrichment class, students will learn Friendship & Feelings American Sign Language vocabulary signs to music. Class will begin with a quick hand warm-up, children will sign a “Hello” song, followed by a fun meet & greet with my pal “Blue” the puppet! We will chat about Dogs, meet some more adorable puppet “Puppy Dog” friends as the children learn new friendship & feelings signs in a simple and engaging way. We will take turns answer conversational questions with “Yes” and “No” in ASL, plus enjoy two lively ASL sing-along songs! Children will have time to chat & sign about their stuffed animal dogs before we finish up our class with a short Storytime and by signing a “Goodbye” song. A fun, comprehensive, easy-paced beginner ASL lesson for children with little or no ASL experience. A wonderful addition to Miss Dena’s ASL Storytime collection of classes!
Learning Goals
Beginner ASL students will learn a “Hello” and “Goodbye” song, learn two fun friendship and feelings songs in ASL, enjoy some gentle movement & stretching and lastly hear a fun Puppy Dog story where they will sign along with the signs “yes” and “no”! Children will have time to chat about their stuffed animal Dogs if they choose to bring one to class, we may even teach our stuffed dogs to “Sit” in American Sign Language! A relaxed class for younger learners to enjoy music, ASL and fun!

Supply List
Children should bring a stuffed puppy dog, dog toy or any animal to class.
