In this one-time class, we will be reading Pete the Cat’s Five Little Pumpkins story (by James Dean, with permission from Harper Collins). Then we will play a counting game with pumpkins. We will end this class with a story-related activity. For this class, your learner will need: *A printed copy of the PDF page for the activity (you can access this where I introduce myself and ask you to introduce your child). If you need help with this, feel free to message me before class, so I can help you. *Pencil *Crayons *Scissors (you know your child best- if your child has trouble, please feel free to do this part before class -or- assist during class) *Glue *Once again, you know your child best. The activity is at the end of class, so if you feel the need to, you may keep these things aside until the end. Friendly reminder that parents can be nearby, just as long as they stay off camera. Thank you! I am looking forward to sharing my favorite Halloween poem with your child. I hope to see your child soon!

Parental Guidance is recommended for the cutting portion of this class. We will be cutting out the five little pumpkins. This happens after the story and game.

Hi there! My name is Miss Katie and I teach Preschool, Pre-Kindergarten, and Kindergarten. Some of my classes review and reinforce concepts learned in any of these grade levels, but will be done so in a fun and engaging way- through games! Other classes of mine will introduce new Science concepts.
Please stay tuned for the fall because I will be launching themed classes throughout the school year that are meant to enrich students' learning, whether it is home-based learning or building-based learning.
I graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education. Since then (and before then, as well), I have worked with children from 6 weeks to 12 years. I have been working with children for over 20 years, in some way, shape, or form.
I believe that learning should be fun! I am passionate about sharing new concepts with young children, as well as reviewing past concepts with them. I believe that the better children are with the basics, the better equipped children will be for the harder things later on.
I am also a parent on Outschool. We have been using this platform since summer of 2020. My children absolutely love the wide array of classes on here, and I love the quality learning my children are getting from these wonderful teachers! There are just so many wonderful things that children can learn on Outschool. I am excited to be teaching here and cannot wait to meet your child!
