Students will pull a story from their own experience, or choose to create something entirely fictional. In class we will work on the concept and delivery, and they will practice between classes. Students will also benefit by learning from each other while they listen and watch their classmates. Class time will include positive feedback and encouragement from their peers.

**This is an interactive class. Students do need to have their cameras on during class. They are either speaking and practicing eye contact, or being the audience for another speaker to make eye contact with.**

Week 1: Get to know each other! We will discuss any previous speaking experience, and what makes a good story. Students will choose their own story.

Week 2: Students will share their previous week, practice their stories, and ask questions. We will discuss the basics of speaking to an audience.

Week 3: We will learn how to review each other in a positive encouraging manner. Students will share their previous week, practice their stories, and ask questions. We will fine tune the basics of speaking to an audience.

Week 4: Show Time! We will check-in on how each student is feeling: are they nervous, scared, or excited? Each student will tell their story to the group, and they will receive a review from the teacher and their peers.
*The weekly breakdown is an overview. Depending on student level, the learnings may happen in sooner or later weeks.
Learning Goals
Students will have fun learning the art of storytelling! They will learn the importance of public speaking basics such as: eye contact, volume, tone, gestures, expression, and more. The goal is for them to feel more comfortable telling a story to an audience by the end of the lessons.
