PSAT/SAT Digital Test Prep Tutoring Group 4 Reading, Writing, Math + Gamified
What's included
1 live meeting
55 mins in-class hours per weekHomework
1 hour per week. Homework is optional, but I strongly encourage it. I’ll remind students when I notice they haven’t completed any assignments, as it’s essential for understanding the test and speeding up progress. The homework I provide is fun and engaging, featuring assignments like crossword puzzles and digital escape rooms created through Canva, which reinforce the concepts we cover in class. To motivate students, homework is linked to an optional leaderboard, where they can earn gift cards and badges for completing assignments. They'll have access to a dedicated page with all notes and assignments, including extra SAT questions for additional practice. Assignments are organized week by week, and students submit their work through a Google Form, enabling me to track their progress and identify areas where they may need more help. Embracing this opportunity will enhance your learning experience and prepare you effectively for the PSAT and SAT!Assessment
When students submit assignments or participate in class, I can gauge their understanding and identify areas where they need help. I spend class time engaging students by asking them to explain why they believe their answers are correct or incorrect. My goal is to teach them every aspect of an SAT question. During certain assignments, students may complete questions in a timed manner, which helps simulate test conditions. Almost everything I incorporate into my SAT classes is designed to continuously assess students’ comprehension, ensuring that we address any gaps in their knowledge effectively.Grading
Points, Badges, and a Leaderboard: Students submit their homework through a Google Form, which includes questions designed to assess both their completion of the assignments and their understanding of the material. Homework is connected to a leaderboard system, where students earn points for completing their work. They can also receive badges for participating in class and maintaining good attendance. This gamified approach not only encourages engagement but also provides a fun way to track their progress and achievements!Class Experience

TABLE OF CONTENTS: WHAT DO I TEACH INCLUDED IN THIS CLASS APPROACH AND METHODOLOGY STRUCTURE WHAT DO I TEACH IN THIS CLASS: -Reading Comprehension: This can be trickly if you don't know one vital piece of information. Passages are based on fact, and this is not what most students are taught in school. It can dramatically change the lens we look through when we read passages. -Conventions of Standard English (Grammar/Punctuation): Believe it or not, this can be the quickest section. It takes some effort, but will yield amazing shortcuts if you hang in there, and trust me. Basing your answer on what sounds good will not put you in a great position, and you'll get as many wrong as right. -Math: Math concepts range from basic to trig. They are made to look difficult and intimidating, but they are not as bad as they seem. Many depend on logic, and some have great shortcuts. **Keep in mind that group is not for everyone. I also do one-on-one classes as well. INCLUDED IN THIS CLASS: -Optional personalized notes and gamified homework assignments -Extra SAT questions embedded into homework and notes, complete with answer explanations -Additional concept worksheets for math support -Prompt feedback and communication with parents -Supplementary tips, videos, and class slides -A relaxed and approachable atmosphere to encourage questions and comfort APPROACH, STRUCTURE, AND THE GAMIFIED CLASSROOM: -Student-centered approach: I prioritize your learning needs. -Comfortable learning environment: I foster an inclusive space where students feel at ease. -Emphasis on understanding: We slow down for in-depth explanations when necessary. Progression: I include a combination of easier questions with more challenging ones, but I will go back and explain things if needed. -I provide a gamified classroom alongside the SAT questions. (What is this? Please Keep Reading) THE GAMIFIED CLASSROOM WITH LEADERBOARD: Traditional study methods can be tedious, and the kids tend to not read the notes. That’s why I’ve created interactive and optional homework assignments that are engaging, such as puzzles and digital escape rooms based on our notes. Students earn points for completing these tasks, contributing to a fun and motivating Leaderboard. This gamified approach adds excitement to your academic journey! BENEFITS: Motivation: Inspires goal-setting and progress tracking. Engagement: Encourages active participation and skill improvement. Competition: Fosters a sense of achievement and excellence. Recognition: Boosts confidence through acknowledgment of accomplishments. Rewards: Earn badges, certificates, and a chance for the top prize—a gift card!
