As this is a private, one-on-one class, I ask that you please request a time that works for your child.
In this on-going class, the learner will use Procreate to doodle along with Michelle while learning drawing strategies for digital art and learning how to navigate Procreate.
Learners will learn about many various aspects of Procreate that may include:
- learn about layers
- learn about the undo/redo shortcut
- learn about opacity
- learn how to make a straight line
- learn how to duplicate layers
- learn how to move layers
- learn how to resize objects
- learn about actions
- learn about adjustments
- learn how to make stylized drawings from simple shapes
Students will need to download the latest version of Procreate (a paid app) to their device prior to class. Learners will also need a second screen so they can view Michelle and other classmates on one device while completing their project on their device. Apple/off brand tablet pencil highly, highly suggested.

Hello! Welcome to my profile. I’m glad you’re here, and I hope I get to "meet" you soon! My name is Michelle. I am a homeschooling momma to two wonderful little girls who definitely keep me on my toes. Here at our house, we are all about science, math, reading, and art. I joined Outschool to share my love of teaching all things art, animation, and reading to all of you.
I earned my bachelors of science in Child and Family Studies. During this time, I learned a lot about best-practices and what's most developmentally appropriate for children. I went on to work as a mental health specialist for three years. Then, I taught privately for 4.5 years. My own kids were of homeschooling age by that time so I decided to stay home and homeschooled my own two kiddos for the last two years. I have worked with children, including my own, and adolescents with a variety of different abilities and intellectual disabilities including ODD, ADHD, autism, and OCD, and I'm confident in my ability to connect with students and help them to understand even the most complex topics by breaking them down in ways that even the youngest of students can understand.
I believe that learning happens naturally when students are motivated and enjoying what they are learning. Education shouldn't be a one-size-fits all, and I think meeting kids where they are is invaluable.
Something most people don't know about me is that I didn't read a single assigned book from 4th grade through college when I earned my bachelors degree. I wasn't interested and didn't care to read the books so I didn't. It wasn't until I found dystopian and historical fiction genres that I started reading for pleasure. Now, I try to read one novel each week.
