Class Experience

During this Process art class, creating art is more important than the product. We will focus on experiencing the creation of art making.

Process art is developmentally appropriate for young children because meets them where they are as sensory explorers will learn about the physical limitations and possibilities of materials, are encouraged to use creative and critical thinking skills, will gain confidence to realize their own ideas.

In Process art, creating art is more important than the product.

The 'process' in process art refers to the process of the formation of art: the gathering, sorting, collating, associating, patterning, and moreover the initiation of actions and proceedings.

Process art is about the method behind the creation and allowing your child to explore art in an open-ended, unstructured way. ... Children are naturally drawn to art. For them it is a form of expression as they explore materials and uncover possibilities.

Hello, My name is Christina Casanova and I love to teach young students the wonders of art and it's history. I have been an Art teacher for the past 5 years and have a BA in Art from SUNY Empire State College. I believe that students can learn a lot from art history and have fun trying new and exciting art techniques! I make sure that my students are engaged and are having fun in the process. I believe that having children create and express their creativity will allow them to view the world in a different way, as well as focus them for other areas of study. Having two young kids of my own, I have been able to create a curriculum that explores the elements and principles of art for all ages as well as math.
