In this four-day class, students will explore probably in a hands-on, group setting. With discovery learning, students will begin to use fractions, percents, and ratios to express probability. They will show their outcomes graphically.

Class experience

US Grade 3 - 5
This class is taught in English.
Students will learn the meaning of probability.  They will be able to calculate the probability of different events and represent it in different ways.  They will learn to collect data and represent data in different ways.  The will understand the importance of the work of an individual as well as the work of a group.  
Homework Offered
Each week students will have the opportunity to complete an optional worksheet on the type of probability we discovered in class. They can also upload a picture of their graph for the class to see.
1 - 2 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
At the end of the class, students will be able to complete a Kahoot based on what they have learned in class. This will be a "challenge" Kahoot which will be completed individually outside of class. The Kahoot will provide an informal assessment of learning.
Grades Offered
Every week students need paper, crayons or colored pencils, and a ruler.  In addition, each week students will need the following:
Day 1:  5 coins 
Day 2:  A pair of dice
Day 3:  A package of Skittles (2.17 ounces)
Day 4:  A deck of playing cards
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
At the end of the course, students will be able to complete a Kahoot based on what they have learned in class.  This requires access to  https://kahoot.it/.  It is not required and students do not need to use their names to play.
