Your learner and I will meet for 45 minutes and work together to improve his/her essay-writing skills. This is an ongoing class, so students can enroll for as many sessions as needed. Parents are invited to send me a message with ideas or requests on how I can make class time most valuable for their learner. My expertise includes teaching all types of essays -- expository, compare/contrast, persuasive, and literary analysis -- as well as the specific parts of the essay -- hook, thesis statement, body paragraphs, embedded text evidence, conclusions, and citations. Further, I stress the writing process -- brainstorming/planning, drafting, revising, editing, and submission.
Learning Goals
Students will learn how to write a solid essay and proper formatting. They will also become more comfortable with the writing process.
