Private Tutor 1:1 Weekend/After-Hours 50-Min Algebra/Geometry/PreCalc/Test Prep
I sometimes open my schedule outside my normal Tuesday-Thursday (10:30-6PM) schedule. You will notice that for my weekends, the closer we get to the weekend the more likely I am to open the availability. This is because I'm always allowing my family to determine whether they want my time on weekends or evenings dedicated to them. I've had many parents asking to book these off hours. By saving this listing, you'll get notifications when I make these times available.
During this 50-min class, your learner can receive impromptu individual tutoring (homework and lab help, test and quiz preparation).
This listing can also be used for early morning (before 10:30 Eastern) and late after normal business hours (after 6:30 PM) on Tuesdays and Wednesdays when a student is needing preparation for a test and urgently needs tutoring.

Class Experience
US Grade 9 - 12
Your learner gets to decide what the topic is. Maybe there's a quiz or test coming up. Perhaps some specific problems with the a lab he/she is preparing. Or perhaps one of topic focused classes have your student needing extra attention beyond what your student can get in a class with other students. Pick your topic and request a time. It's helpful if you can send me the trouble spots and assignments ahead of time. Here is a list of chemistry topics that might fit what you need. Choose one of these or bring your own work. If no topic is chosen for the private session, I will use the following schedule. This class is for learners in the middle and high school levels needing assistance in Algebra. Send me the material you would like me to work through in this class.
Learning Goals
For the student to increase proficiency, understanding, and speed on the specific math topic of their choosing.
Other Details
Parental Guidance
It's a tutoring session. The parents and student determine the content within the constraints of high school chemistry.
Supply List
Learners should bring any materials (e.g.homework, review material) relevant for the topics they would like to discuss during the class. Advance notice of the topics and questions is helpful but is NOT required. TI-84 or higher level calculator is needed.
External Resources

Teacher expertise and credentials
3 Teaching Certificates
South Carolina Teaching Certificate
South Carolina Teaching Certificate in Science
South Carolina Teaching Certificate in Mathematics
2 Degrees
Master's Degree from Case Western Reserve University
Bachelor's Degree in Science from University of Virginia
I've been certified in the public schools for teaching math in middle and high schools. I've taught classes and tutored also for high school chemistry and college level inorganic and organic chemistry.
Before that, I worked in the polymer industry as a chemical engineer in research and development, using my degree as a chemical engineer from the University of Virginia where I studied inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, physical chemistry, thermodynamics, unit operation chemical labs, chemistry of integrated circuits, and polymer chemistry.
My college senior thesis was to build a computer simulated model of a packed-bed continuous chemical reactor.
I received additional certified training for gifted and talented learners. I taught math for sixteen years and I've been a personal SAT tutor for seven years. My students have typically raised their scores between 100 and 300 points. As a chemical engineer and project management professional in the world of business consulting and information technology consulting, I've completed over five levels of college calculus and applied mathematics and used these math and computing skills throughout my career.
The students I have taught had varying learning abilities that ranged from one with pronounced learning disabilities to gifted and talented. When it came to PSAT's and SAT's, each of them with impressive improvements in their scores.
It can be done! I used a focused approach. We honed in on trouble areas, really understood the underlying math concept, and drilled for mastery.
