Description

Class Experience

2 hours per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
I may use Accelerated Reading Book Finder to see the reading level and rating of the books used in class. The Horn Book Inc. is another worldwide and well-respected source for checking reviews on books. Some of the books that may be used are the following. I will try to find books that appeal to the child's interest.
Caldecott Award Winning Books like:
"Make Way for Ducklings"
"Blueberries for Sal"
"A Day in Maine"
"Snowflake Bentley"
"Hello Lighthouse"
"Time of Wonder"
"The Biggest Bear"
Other books that may be used :
"The Biscuit Series"
"The McDuff Series"
The parent will let me know the interests of the student and the books they may have in their own personal library.
The teacher will assess the student to determine what activities will be used or created to help the student improve in their reading. After this is completed, weekly the teacher will place any activity sheets we will use in the classroom.
