Hi! I have been teaching for over twenty-five years. I strive to create a calm and inviting atmosphere for my learners. I am patient and can explain skills and ideas in a way students can understand. In this private Reading Language Arts class, I will provide instruction tailored explicitly to your learner's needs. Once you have enrolled your learner, please message me if you have specific skills you'd like me to work on with your child. I will provide materials in the classroom and screen share with students during class. Some suggestions of skills to request: *Reading Comprehension * ask and answer questions about key details in the literature. *Recall and retell stories * character development *Identify literary elements in a story *Determine the meaning of words and phrases in a text using context clues *Compare and Contrast characters, settings Grammar: Dictionary skills * nouns *verbs *conjunctions * punctuation *types of sentences *friendly letters *synonyms, homophones, antonyms *context clues, multiple-meaning contractions *compound words

When I have time, I like to travel, experience different cultures, and learn the history of people and places. I am also an animal lover! I have two dogs, have worked with animal rescues, and fostered cats and dogs for years.
