Supply List
All students need to have a piano or a keyboard will full-size keys. Recommendations may be made to help the students sit in the appropriate height and position in relation to the keyboard in order to learn the correct hand position.

It is very helpful to have a metronome. This can be a metronome that is part of an electric keyboard or a metronome app.

No materials are needed for the first lesson.

Young beginner students (ages 5-7) will use materials from the "Keyboard Beginnings" piano books which will be supplied by the teacher. The materials will be sent to the students to either be printed or to be displayed on an electronic device (etc. tablet, laptop) for practicing.

Book recommendations will be made for beginners age 8 and up. (ex. Piano Adventures by Faber & Faber, Bastien Series, and Alfred Series)

Students who have had lesson may start lessons using books they have. Book recommendations may be made. (ex. Piano Adventures by Faber & Faber, Bastien Series, and Alfred Series)

Profile
Teacher expertise and credentials
I have bachelor's and master's degree in music education. Piano was my main instrument for my undergraduate degree. I am a full-time vocal music teacher at an elementary school. I am classically trained pianist but also play by ear. I have experience accompanying myself or a group of students while performing a variety of styles. (using written piano notation as well as accompaniment I figured out by ear.)
