Homework
1-2 hours per week. Students are expected to practice on their own for at least one hour per week outside of class, as well as complete a worksheet some weeks.Class Experience
This class is designed to give students a personalized piano learning experience. I believe that piano should be enjoyable, so I try to make my lessons fun and engaging for students. Students with and without experience are welcome to enroll. The class is designed for beginning and intermediate students. After an initial assessment lesson to determine the student’s starting point, weekly lessons will involve a mix of learning new skills and playing songs. Each week, students will be given one to three songs to practice on their own. At the beginning of each class, students will play their assigned song(s), and I will provide them feedback. Then, we will learn new skills and practice them. With each new skill, students will be assigned a song that involves the new skills learned. These songs will be introduced to the student, and, if time allows, we will practice the new songs during class. I send personalized feedback after each lesson so that parents know what was covered in class and what the student needs to work on between lessons.

The songs in this course are all secular.
Supply List
- piano or keyboard - piano bench or seat - pencil - access to a printer I recommend having a method to mount a phone or other device above your keyboard. This allows me to see the student's hands as they play in order to suggest corrections. Students will need a Bastien Piano Basics book. After the initial assessment lesson, we will discuss which level would be most appropriate for your child.
