Private Piano Lessons on Your Own Schedule - Independent Study
What's included
Homework
Completing songs and scales individually.Assessment
I will be assessing performance on a weekly basis.Class Experience
I am so excited to offer this flex class for those who want to enhance their musical performance and expand their repertoire of songs but cannot find a convenient time. This class can be for beginners to advanced. This is one on one class, so no other learners will be joining, and the student will be able to upload their lessons to the classroom without any worry about others observing their video. I will then send messages/videos of what to do next. Just think, no more worrying about rescheduling your lesson because of your schedule, it is all done on your learner's schedule! We will start with the learner sending in a video of their performing their latest song on the piano to me, along with what they want to have accomplished by the end of the 8 weekly lessons. I will then send weekly instructional videos and messages through the classroom. I will like to add on a challenge piece, IF the course work you have in mind, is not heavy in learning already. This is a very different type of flex class but gives those learners who want to learn more and are disciplined to work on their own. I teach in a fun and encouraging way. Depending on the learner, we can move quicker than the usual weekly lesson, since as soon as what I have given as work is completed, and approved, we will be able to progress further, instead of waiting for a whole week for their next scheduled lesson. At the same time, if a learner needs to take a few weeks to complete the lesson, they can. I hope to see your learner in class.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi parents and learners. Thank you for checking out my profile!
My name is Sharon Gustin. I majored in Science and Music at SUNY Potsdam. I served as an Education Consultant at ‘Kindermusik’, working with PreK and Kindergarten teachers to learn how to implement Kindermusik, a literacy, and language curriculum that uses music as a vehicle for learning!
I have 30 years’ worth of experience teaching children in my OWN music studio, where I held “Little Musicians” classes for 3 - 5 years old. The immense popularity of these classes with the kids led me to extend them up to 9 years old because STUDENTS DID NOT WANT THE CLASS TO END.
Thanks to Outschool, I can bring my zest, spirit, and experience to your little one.
My teaching style is fun and engaging. Using songs, rhymes, listening activities, and other school readiness activities, I incorporate all three approaches to learning (visual, auditory, and kinesthetic) to ensure every learner leaves class excited about what they have learned and craving to return to learn even more!
I can't wait to see your little learner in class!
