Homework
1-2 hours per week. Students should practice enough to learn the techniques introduced in this course. The amount of practice necessary will be discussed in our first class meeting.Class Experience
This is a weekly, private class for learners ages 8-18. Private piano lessons are a fun and efficient way for your learner to improve their piano playing technique and confidence, whether your learner is brand new to the piano, is self-taught, or has taken lessons in the past and is ready to learn more! I have extensive experience teaching students of all ages and levels how to improve their piano technique and musicality. I have performed as a concert pianist internationally, and when I'm not teaching I still perform actively. In lessons, I foster a relaxed and creative environment where learners feel able to explore their own individual interests as they work to improve playing technique, musical expression, and their knowledge of music theory. I am very excited to meet your learner and help them grow as a musician! Our first lesson together will be spent getting to know each other, checking our tech and piano set ups to be sure everything will run smoothly for lessons, and going over what music your learner would like to work on, or work toward. From there, students will receive weekly practice and music theory projects that will foster their musicality and creativity while pushing their technical and intellectual abilities. My goal is to help your learner become the best musician they can be, while also making sure your learner is working toward goals that they want to achieve. PLEASE NOTE: There are no transfers or makeups for missed classes. Please let me know if you have concerns about attending a scheduled class ahead of time. If your learner misses a class or has a “last minute” (same day) schedule conflict, I will provide a recorded lesson in place of a live meeting. Each student must have access to a piano or keyboard for each class. Students who are new to the piano will receive songbook and lesson book recommendations from the Faber piano series after their first class.
Learning Goals
Students will gain confidence in their musicianship by studying music theory or piano.

Learners are welcome to bring whatever music they are working on to class, or may bring a wishlist of songs that they would like to learn. If your learner already knows how to play the piano, please let me know ahead of time what repertoire your learner is practicing.
