What's included
Class Experience
US Grade 5 - 10
This is a private tutoring flexible schedule class that is based around your learner. At the beginning of the time, I will post a questionnaire for students to fill out about themselves. These will be questions related to their learning style, math understanding, and goals for tutoring. Students can post homework questions, or request specific topics to be covered. All activities will be scaffolded to meet your learner's needs. Videos with explanations of concepts will be provided as needed and support given throughout each lesson. This class is designed for students to have support Monday through Friday with their homework questions. Since homework is often due the next class day students will need to have a picture of their homework or write in their specific question by 9:00 pm CST to receive a day of response. I will post all responses to homework inquiries by 9:00 PM CST (or earlier if the question was posted earlier) Monday-Friday. For work regarding specific topics, students will write in the topics they need additional support and I will provide, videos, and digital hands-on activities for them to participate in to help solidify their learning. I specialize in Grades 4 through Algebra 1 but will work with any age student. Please reach out with specific questions.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Missouri Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education
Master's Degree in Mathematics from Drury University
I am a non traditional teacher, no lectures here!
Instead my classes focus on being:
*Student Centered- they lead the pace
*Critical Thinking -complex tasks are given that may be a bit unusual but will cause students to think deeply
*Problem Solving- word problems to keep concepts in context
*Focus on discovering patterns- patterns is the basis of the study of algebra and higher levels of math thinking
*Students create their understanding versus being told what to think
I am constantly learning how to become a better math teacher! I have a Master's degree in Math Education but I don't believe that means I know everything. In fact I am constantly reading about the brain, and the best ways to teach math. I also am constantly evaluating my classes and content and making changes based on how learners interact with the material.
I have 13 years of experience in Education, and have taught math at all levels including adults.

In my down time, I love hanging with my husband, and two girls. We love to read books, play games and do math together (of course:)
