Specialized Topics:
Reading Comprehension: I focus on teaching students strategies to extract key ideas, infer meaning, and summarize texts effectively. We work through fiction and non-fiction to enhance analytical skills and critical thinking.
Writing Mechanics: My expertise includes improving sentence structure, grammar, punctuation, and paragraph development. I help students learn to write with clarity, precision, and flow in both creative and academic writing.
Vocabulary Development: Through context-based exercises and word analysis, I specialize in helping students expand their vocabulary. This helps them not only understand texts better but also improve their written and oral communication.
Multi-sensory Learning Techniques: For students with ADHD, dyslexia, or other learning challenges, I utilize the Orton-Gillingham approach and other multi-sensory methods. These methods focus on engaging multiple senses in learning, allowing students to understand and retain information better.
Teaching Methods:
Interactive and Student-Centered Learning: I believe in tailoring lessons to each student's unique needs and learning style. Students actively participate in lessons through discussions, games, and hands-on activities.
Gamified Learning: I incorporate elements of game-based learning, especially using platforms like Roblox to make concepts more engaging and memorable. This approach turns learning into an adventure, building confidence and retention.
Socratic Method: I encourage critical thinking through dialogue, asking questions that guide students toward discovering answers on their own. This builds independence and boosts problem-solving skills.
Positive Reinforcement: I make sure that students feel motivated by celebrating their achievements, no matter how small, building their self-confidence and encouraging a love for learning.
These methods and topics come together to provide an engaging, supportive, and individualized learning experience, helping students progress and feel more confident in their abilities.
