Beginner - Advanced Level
Welcome parents and learners! I am Ms. Amy. In this ongoing class we will meet twice a week to learn speaking Mandarin, reading and writing simplified Chinese. I will tailor lessons to your student's interests and goals. Please feel free to bring your own materials or assignments to our class. You can also let me know if there are certain areas you would like specialized practice in, so I can identify some useful materials for us to work with together. For students of intermediate level...
Hello! Thank you so much for showing interest in my classes. I am Ms. Amy. I am a native Mandarin Chinese speaker. I have multiple degrees in languages and literature, and spend a lot of time in reading and translating literary works. I have more than 10 years teaching experiences of different levels of Chinese to students from kindergarten to university. I offer specific, individually tailored lessons in the areas of pronunciation, listening, speaking, reading and writing. I have been also tutoring IB Chinese language B and Mandarin ab initio, and AP Chinese language and culture and different levels of conversation, reading and writing. I apply communicative teaching strategies to encourage learners to engage in learning activities that are based on their language skills, topics of interest and individually tailored materials. I like to read books , practice Chinese calligraphy, and do paintings while I’m not working.
Homework Offered
We have homework regularly. Usually it takes 15-20minutes to practice the pronunciation of Pinyin and tones, practice writing characters, reading short sentences, or writing emails, card, etc.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class

A 1-2 page handout with the content of each session will be provide. A notebook for notes and writing activities is needed.
