ABOUT THIS CLASS: This course is a weekly private flute lesson (one on one) for flutists of all levels, from brand new beginners to advanced students, for the duration of the Winter Semester (15 weeks total from November through January). Students will establish great flute posture, embouchure, tone, articulation, and will learn how to read notes on the staff and rhythms fluently. Students will also work on flute repertoire, phrasing, and musicality.
Homework Offered
Daily practice is required for this course and for learners to get the best experience possible! Beginners are expected to practice at least 15-20 minutes a day and intermediate level students will increase their practice time depending on the age/level of the student.1 - 2 hours per week outside of class

Student and teacher will work together to choose appropriate exercises and activities for weekly instruction and practice. This may include a flute method book and/or pneumo pro (practice device) to be purchased by the learner. If students are unable to purchase materials, alternative materials can be provided.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
