Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree in Music or Theatre or Arts from Morehead State University
Hi, I'm Shelby Anderson (Mrs. Shelby)! 🌼
I've been teaching flute in person and online for nine years and I love using my experience as a professional musician to help flutists discover their passion for music. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from Morehead State University and received a Graduate Certificate in Flute Performance and Recording & Production from the University of Denver. I am a state certified music teacher in grades Pre-K through 12, and I received KinderFlute teacher training in 2021. 👩🎓
I've taught dozens of brand new beginners, as well as advanced students both in person and on Zoom. Together we're able to find a beautiful sound and have a great start to flute playing! I've also coached advanced students on solo repertoire, tone and technique for competitions, college auditions, and scholarship auditions. Whether your student is a brand new beginner, prepping for music school auditions, or somewhere in between, I would love to guide them in their flute playing journey. 🎶
If I'm not teaching flute lessons and classes, I'm probably drinking tea or spending time with my husband and our two cats! 🐱
