Class Experience

US Grade Preschool - 12
When we are young children, we learn our first language by listening, speaking, and doing. We laugh, sing, draw, and play, all while learning our first language. The same methods can be used to learn a second language as well! In my ESL classes, students have fun and create lasting knowledge at the same time.

Parents from all over the world are enrolling their children in ESL classes, because they recognize the value of being able to communicate in a language that is used across the globe. Private tutoring with a native English speaker is a great way to accelerate your child's learning, and ensure that they are set up for success! Each lesson is customized to your child's specific level and needs.

In 2016, I received an Advanced Certificate in TESOL from The Canadian Institute of English and Applied Neuroscience. Since then, I have helped both children and adults from all over the world to write, read, and speak English. Along with being an ESL teacher, I am also an art teacher, so I bring creativity into all of my classes.

I created 35-minute tutoring sessions, because shorter, more frequent learning sessions are much more beneficial for language retention. This ongoing course is listed as an ongoing class, because students benefit the most from regular ESL lessons. Because these are one-on-one lessons, I can be flexible with the day and time that we have our classes. The weekly class schedule will change depending on the needs of your child.

Here are a few example of some topics that can be discussed in our one-on-one classes:
Letter and Object Association- "A is for...."
Numbers and Animals- How many are there?
Colors- Let's Paint!
Greetings- "Nice to meet you!"
Pronouns- Who is she/he/they/them?

I am looking forward to seeing your little learner in my class! Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

I am a professional artist, specializing in oil portrait paintings, and I have had the privilege of displaying my artwork in venues across the country. I believe that art is about self expression and learning, and I hope to create a fun, interactive environment where students can develop a love for art while building their confidence in a new skill.
I have always struggled with expecting “perfection” of myself, especially in my art, so I am constantly reminding my students, as well as myself, that perfection is not required, and that practice, not unreasonable expectations, is what a advances our skills.
My joy in teaching comes from the comments of my students and their parents, expressing that they created something they didn’t know was possible.
